Through the years

1984
In 1984, P&G decided to go through the Distributorship Sales Program, a pioneering effort on its infant stage. In line with P&G’s redundancy program, this became a chance of a lifetime offer to Mr. Jose Mari D. Gamboa, a former van salesman of P&G’s first distributors. Right Goods General Merchandise, a sole proprietorship was born for this very purpose. This started with a one-truck, two-man operation   based in Karapatan along Dimasalang in Manila covering the lakeside towns of Rizal. Mr. Gamboa himself was the salesman with a helper covered 200 stores with a 1.2 Million volume.

 

1990

The first warehouse was built in Antipolo. It was also in the same year when his better half, Kaye Gamboa, became part of the RGGM team business/ from a 17 million sales to 38 million with a reach of 1000+ stores.

 

1991

RGPI started to professionalize its organization by hiring the very first batch of Sales Supervisors from the Ateneo de Manila University. The couple led some 101 employees who fueled the growth of the company.

 

1992
The birth of a new corporation in the entity of Right Goods Philippines Incorporated was elevated as a key and strategic P&G customer, having a tandem of a management group as a support and a directional body to propel RGPI’s business.

 

1994
With the growing business needs and area expansion, RGPI transferred from Antipolo to a bigger warehouse in Mejico Santolan Pasig City. RGPI again became the best in class in terms of warehouse and office standards.

1996
The company acknowledged the need for modernization and the use of technology to understand and analyze the business furthermore. RGPI became a pillar in launching different distributor systems like (Platinum, IDS, Solomon, MARS, & STAR). Overall Distributor Date helped increase the top accounts’ business and were very much appreciated during business reviews.

 

1998
RGPI opened the first Puregold Supermarket in Shaw Blvd. It was during this partnership that the capability of the said supermarket was acknowledged by P&G through proper account development, in a span of 8 years, 12 doors were opened with a 40 million business until it became directly served by P&G.

 

2000
RGPI was consistently known for delivering superior performance in all business measures. They received numerous citations for Logistics, IDS & Funds Management and were always contenders for Best in Class. During FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000, RGPI won their first Best in Class Distributor Award, also bagging the Best Logistics, Focus Market and Focus M A S Management Awards.

 

2001
RGPI further raised the bar in 2001 by bagging their 2nd BEST IN CLASS award. They also won the following awards: Best Open Trade Operation, Best Focus Market Operation, BEST IN CLASS Market Seller, Van Seller, Major Accounts Segment Seller and Finance Manager.

 

2002
RGPI made history by winning their 3rd Best in Class title. In the same year, the Company moved to its new and improved warehouse in M. de Leon St. Santolan, Pasig. RGPI became one of P&G’s top distributors and ranked among the top 5 accounts of P&G in Asean, Australia, & India.

 

2006
RGPI further placed itself in the distribution business map by conquering South which included Alabang, Muntinlupa up to Cabuyao Laguna and had Reysal Chain as its top accounts.

 

2008

RGPI was awarded with additional areas in the upper Laguna, South Cavite, Province of Batangas, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon. Meritorious of its consistent excellent performance, a bigger warehouse in STMI compound in Calamba was opened to further serve the growing number of accounts in South Luzon. Subsequently, management trainees were hired and developed to become future leaders of the company.


2012

The team delivered record-breaking executions, be it in High Frequency Stores or Cash & Carry segments. Armed with the winning attitude and the aim to go for 4 million & 4th Best In Class award, after ten years, RGPI reclaimed the BEST IN CLASS crown. They also bagged six out of eight BEST IN CLASS awards/ namely Best In Class High Frequency Store Operations, Cash & Carry Operations,  Distributor Sales Supervisor, Major Accounts Manager, Finance Manager and  Human Resource Manager. RGPI has consistently ranked as Top 3 accounts of Procter and Gamble in the Philippines and ranked 5th in Australia, Asia & the Pacific region.

2013

Partnership was renewed with Nestle Philippines Inc, with a record of being able to set  up and be operational  in three weeks . Right Moves, Inc. now covers East GMA for Nestle grocery products.

2014

Several partnerships were forged with global companies like British American Tobacco and Samsung Electronics and even Rite Med - increasing the distribution portfolio of diverse yet unique products.

In November, RGPI became the national distributor of P&G International Operations to distribute Wella Professionals in the Philippines.

Today, RGPI continues the tradition of winning, executing with excellence and passion and with more than a thousand employees propelling its growth.  It is a Company geared for the future and is ready to be a Full Service Distributor for Procter and Gamble and truly.. it is a company that is built to last.
